Jackie’s Hearing Aid Fund

Hello everybody, I am Jackie, 19 years old. Three months ago, I developed sudden sensorineural hearing loss, and is now essentially deaf in one ear. Along with the hearing loss, I have a severe case of tinnitus, which interferes with my daily life. It all happened very suddenly one afternoon, and the first two weeks of my condition was the worst period of my life- I could not focus on anything, the loud, incessant ringing kept me up every night, and my mind was constantly in turmoil.

In the past months, I've gone through the only available treatments which were oral medication and direct injection of steroids through the eardrum everyday for a week, but was told that there seemed to be no chance of recovery for me. As such, a hearing aid would be the only choice left for me now if I do not wish to be haunted by the constant ringing in my ear. However, all the medical expenses thus far had taken a huge toll on my family's finance, especially since I come from a family with one sole bread winner, and two other siblings. The price range of hearing aids is from SGD$650 to $7000 according to Singapore General Hospital's website, and I hope to be able to raise $650 to be able to afford one. The funds will be used to greatly improve my situation and help me regain my normal life. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!
