Jackie’s Fight For Her Life

In January of 2014 I learned that a friend of mine was diagnosed with Stage four lung cancer.  I was taken aback because she had never smoked cigarettes. She was also recently diagnosed with spine cancer and now bone cancer.  This cancer is now terminal as Radiation was given for pain and Chemotherapy failed to prevent the various tumors from growing.    Jackie is a well known fund rasier for non profits in Hagerstown, Maryland.  Every week on facebook, since I have known her, she is appealing to friends and business to help the kids at the Boy's and Girls Club of America, as well as other organizations in our community, all focusing on underprivliged children.  Daily posts on her Facebook page include needs of others, the constant need for volunteers and pictures of those for whom she has raised money.  She has used Facebook as a means to connect with people by appealing to their charitable sense. With no children of her own, Jackie's has poured her life's work into local kids.   As I sat at dinner with her last night, she kept talking about wanting to go to Ocean City Maryland for a weekend while her legs can still walk.  If I had the money, I would buy her a trip she's never forget.  I dont, hence the plea for donations.  Her legs are weaker every day as is her spirit.  A weekend away would bring her such joy, just as she has brought joy to hundreds of families in our community.  Please donate whatever you can so we can make this happen.  Time is of the essence as the cancer is now in her bones as well.  I can promise you that any amount donated will help her immensley with medications, co pays and medical hospital fees.  Her insuarnce does not cover very much and this is a huge burden on her.
