J24 Origins and Background
With over 5,300 boats built and sailing around the world the J/24 is truly an international class. No matter where in the world you may be, there is invariably a competitive J/24 fleet nearby. Originally designed and built by American, Bob Johnstone in 1977, the J/24 has been embraced by thousands of competitive sailors throughout the world as one of the most exciting racing sailboats available. The Black Swan team is intent on breaking into the Top 10 boats in the competitive Ontario Fleet in 2013. This accomplishment will automatically qualify Black Swan to compete in the World Championships for J/24s this 2013 season.
To accomplish this feat, Black Swan must compete against well-funded boats that are equally committed to success. In order to fund this enterprise, Black Swan J24 crew is seeking corporate sponsorship or public funding for the 2013 season. We believe that with the help of the money raised through this fund raising the boat will qualify for the 2013 Worlds Championship.

Black Swan’s Crew
The Black Swan’s crew combines uniquely talented and experienced sailors each of whom is determined to achieve racing success in 2007. Led by Skipper Eli Gershman with over 30 years of highly successful racing experience in the Mediterranean and Canada. First place winner of 2004 Ontario Fall series, 2nd place in 2006 fall series, 5th overall in 2006 Ontario series and many, many more. The team represents a combination of focus, strength, and seamanship that supports a total determination to succeed in our lofty goals for this year and beyond.
