Izizwe Projects – Support our Sport Program!

The Sports Program was founded to teach the children different types of sports and make them aware of the benefits of doing sports: getting fitter, having fun with their classmates and getting out of their comfort zone which makes them physical and mentally stronger. Our local and international volunteers give sport lessons at the two primary schools of the Walmer Township and include as many different types of sport as possible. We also offer a swimming program for eight weeks every year. In the lessons we teach 8 -12 toddlers how to swim. Every year our interns create a sport year plan with our local sport coordinator in order to be more organised during the school year. This time we would love to include some new types of sport such as volleyball, handball, frisbee and hockey. Since our equipment was used a lot in the past and does not function properly anymore we have to replace the broken materials with new ones.

We have to provide our equipment we would appreciate your support. Furthermore, we would like to take our local sport coordinator to a further training and sport management program in order to improve our sport lessons.
