Campaign Story
Both me and my wife had been married for 8 years.
Till date we do not have any kids, initially we were not planning for any kids as my wife has a medical condition known as PJS " Peutz-Jeghers syndrome " which is an extremely rare medical condition. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peutz%E2%80%93Jeghers_syndrome)
Only recently we found out that we can go through IVF and from there on we can do a PGD, a genetic test and choose the fertilized egg which do not carry that particular gene with PJS.
Though the IVF process is subsidies partially and medisave deductible, there is an additional upfront of another SGD14k for the PGD, (PDG, Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) is a procedure used prior to implantation to help identify genetic defects within embryos. This serves to prevent certain genetic diseases or disorders from being passed on to the child.) which we need to fork out and the total amount comes up to about SGD20k after subsidies and medisave deduction for one cycle of IVF treatment, we will also need to send my wife blood sample for the gene test to confirm on the gene defect that's required tp proceed with the PGD.
As we really love kids, and hope that our family can be complete, I am writing this with a heavy heart and hope that there will be people who feel me and is able to contribute in whatever amount they can.
Should the IVF process be successful, I will try update everyone.
Sincerely from the bottom of my heart I thank everyone who has taken the time to read this.
