An Unexpected Red Card: Help me get back into the Game

Hola amigos y amigas,

My name is Ivan. I'm a 25 year old Mexican citizen living, studying a Master degree, and working as a Spanish teacher in Hsinchu Taiwan. Those who know me know that I'm a sports guy, but I'm a passionate soccer player and soccer fan.

Unfortunately, on June of 2017, I had a motorcycle accident which has turned my life around. I suffered a tibial and fibular open fracture with a femur supra and inter condyle open comminuted fracture. Long story short, I'm lucky I'm still alive and also that I didn't get my right leg amputated after a complicated surgery.

Since then, the recovery and healing process has been very slow. But now, I've been diagnosed with ''Non-union fracture'' condition, which means the bones aren't growing back as they should. I'm in need of a second surgery to:

1. Get a metal plate on the Tibia (Since the current screws didn't help to keep it fixed)
2. Get a bone grafting procedure to replace the missing bones since they have failed to grow back

Although I have Taiwanese National Insurance and it will help me to cover a great amount of the expenses, some materials (such as the metal plate) as well as some medicines necessary for stimulating bone growing after the surgery aren't included.

I would need to pay an estimate of NT90,000 (US3000) to cover surgery costs and post treatments (medicines and rehabilitation).

This would be a tremendous help not only financially, but also emotionally. I've been dealing and covering all the expenses the best I can with this situation. I truly hope and wish, from the bottom of my heart, that I would be able to walk again, and even better, to play soccer again, and I need this surgery to give a step forward towards achieving that goal of getting back on my feet to kick some balls.
