Ivanna’s College Education Fund in Memory of Kerry C. MacNeal

Good day everyone!

My name is Ivanna Julianne I. Cablao and I am here reaching out to your good hearts to ask for support for my College Education.

Just a little background, it was my foster father, Kerry C. MacNeal who was supporting me with all my expenses for my education since I was 6 years old until I am 19 years old. My mother who is a solo parent to me and with health issues can only provide for our daily needs. Uncle Kerry was like a father to me. He taught me a lot. He taught me everything about life and provided me everything like a good father should be providing to his children. He has many plans and dreams for me. He dreamed of me being in the US Air Force and eventually a member of NASA. So, he enrolled me in a flying school to become a pilot.

Unfortunately, he will no longer be here in this world to see my first flight. He got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last July 2020 and died on December 8, 2020. I felt devastated not only because he will not be around to support me and my studies but the fact that I will not have the chance to thank him for all the things that he has done to us. I have always dreamt of thanking him over the pilot intercom from the cockpit as a surprise when I get to work for an airline. I have even practiced my speech multiple times and sent over a recording to him during his chemotherapy days to keep his morale up and make him smile. However, after that message, he never replied anymore.

Life goes on… with the help of our good friends and because of the scholarship I got from the Philippine State College of Aeronautics (PhilSCA), me and my mother were able to survive one year after his death. He was not able to finish arranging for my education funding before he passed away. I am now in my 3^rd year in college with my last academic semester almost coming to an end, soon I will be on my ground training and will be having my first actual flight which will be in another city that would require me a new set of expenses such as travel fees, airplane flying fees and living expenses. I have been trying to earn from freelance video editing too on the side but with my limited resources and time, I can only do so much.

I wish to be my uncle Kerry’s legacy and want to finish my degree and become the person that he wanted me to be. I want to have the job that we envisioned and be an inspiration to others. I want to continue his advocacies of being a good Samaritan. Please help me attain our dreams.
