IUHPFL Trip!

Indiana Universities Honors Program in Foreign Languages is a 6 week educational experience over the summer. They offer programs for Spanish, German, French, and Chinese. I will be pursuing the German program, which takes place in Graz, Austria. It is a 100% immersion program that includes trips all across Austria. There is no English permitted, and no internet access during the course of the trip aside from the one hour of email access every week. IUHPFL also includes daily classes to increase fluency, along with the language commitment. One thing that so outstanding about this program, is its amazing host family system. During the stay, you live with a host family matched to you that will help you along the way. This program is the fastest, cheapest, and best program with the intended goal of fluency. As an IB HL German student, I know that this program is the best thing for me. I'm very passionate about it, and have been dreaming about going since my freshman year of highschool. Up until this month, it has been an obtainable goal. Now that the funding is less accessible I am trying to find any way possible of making it there.
