IT ENDS HERE SWIHELA-LANI FOUNDATION NPO was established to eliminates child abuse and gender-based violence and it was initiated for the public benefit of South Africans most especially those who reside in Mpumalanga where the organization is operating. other services being rendered are community awareness programs, social work services, entrepreneur skills programs, HIV/AIDS-related matters, school programs and hope for future generation programs.

The organization’s secondary reason it is initiated to work in collaboration with other organization that mainly deal with vulnerable, neglected, and abused children and those who help children to live a healthier, happier and more productive life.

Lastly, its aim is to establish networking structures with the relevant government department, stakeholders and Donors who work towards eliminating child abuse and gender-based violence in Mpumalanga.

Please help the Organisation raise fund to purchase sanitary protection to be distributed to the school going girls from the disadvantage homes who are unable to buy pads and tend to miss school days during their menstrual period, about 500 targeted beneficiaries per month , this is one of the school programs objectives as per our daily activity listed here-under

1. Child Protection Program

The main goal of this objective is to promote, protect and fulfill the right of children to protection from abuse and exploitation, this child protection program will ensure that children live in a supportive and caring environment that promotes their development and the realization of their rights. exploitation includes but not limited to

  • Physical abuse which constitutes any physical hurt or injury.
  • Emotional abuse the negative effect on the emotional development of the child caused by emotional ill-treatment and/or emotional neglect.
  • Verbal abuse an excessive shouting or swearing, threats, teasing and insults which attacks a child’s self-esteem
  • Sexual abuse Involving or exposing a child to any sexual activity or pornographic material, even with the child’s consent or request
  • Neglect which occurs when care-giving adults fail to meet the child’s essential needs and withhold life necessities from that child.
  • The program will further provide protection from psycho-social distress, protection from family separation consequences affecting the children, protecting the children from abuses related to forced marriage
  • The organisation recognize the culture, gender and religious diversity of children and take into account in all its considerations, however, the interests and well-being of children come as a priority if any culture or religion violent their right the organisation consider that as part of child abuse and it will take all reasonably practicable steps to protect them from any abuse to ensure that their welfare its safe and protected.
  • Gender-based Violence Prevention Programs
  • Encouraging the survivor of gender-based violence to break the silence and report any exploitation and to transform socio-cultural norms with an emphasis on empowering women and girls.
  • Conduct a GBV Risk Assessment Screening which improved GBV risk identification and management
  • Rebuilding family and community structures of support that do away with gender-based violence
  • Working with formal and traditional legal systems to help eliminates gender-based violence issue bringing men and boys into work against violence the approach will enable them to become agents of change Incorporating them into change agent of perpetrators. This services must also reach out to perpetrators of violence we call this a secondary prevention in order to decrease future perpetration.
  • Do the Assessment, monitoring, and documentation the impact on gender-related issues.

Recognizing important links between prevention and response the organisation believes that a survivor of GBV does not have personal strength because of traumas and stress caused by GBV effects, the survivor tends not to have the strength to pursue justice for themselves the program aims at!

Conduct community-based dialogue groups consisting of both men and women to address gender-based violence

3. School Awareness Programs

  • The aim of this program is to cater a tendency to school-going girls from disadvantaged backgrounds who are unable to afford sanitary protection, the program aims at distributing sanitary pads to the girls
  • Raising awareness about children rights and responsibilities at schools
  • provide support to adolescents with sexual health-related matters questions
  • Assist boys who under the influence of substances abuse and link them with the relevant stakeholders
  • Educators Programs the organisation believe teachers have a huge impact as well as being an important safety net for children who are at high risk for abuse at home. The program aim at equipping educators with skills to enable them to identify abuse and encourage the learner to report such incident, they will further have abilities to watch for red flags behavioral and physical indicators that a child is being abused or at risk of being abused. Lastly, an educator will learn about being a trusted adult, learn about to Create an atmosphere of trust with the students. So that the children can let them know if there are problems in their lives. Most of the time children whether they are abused or not they appreciate having an adult they can trust the organisation will train the educators to be that person.
  • Elimination of Bulling at school which is a deliberate act of aggression or manipulation, a form of violence where a person is exposed to negative actions or verbal abuse and describes a form of harassment to further elaborate is when people calling you names, making things up to get you into trouble, Hitting, pinching, biting, pushing and shoving, taking things away from you such as lunch or pocket money, damaging your belongings, Spreading rumors, Threats and intimidation.
  • School Retention Programs aiming at protection from denial of access to quality education and provide young women girl program aiming at teenage pregnancy schooling or drop out young girls.

4. Community Awareness Programs & P Orphan and Vulnerable(NPO) Care and support

Community Program aims at Preventing and eliminating the recurrence of child maltreatment, connecting professionals and stakeholders from the many disciplines to promote the best response to child maltreatment; and, Educating the public about child exploitation and how to report such incident.

  • This a community-based protection awareness program, community care worker will be working closely to assess issue affecting the children and their families
  • Community-Based Child Protection care workers can be involved in a range of activities for children, depending on the context and environment and the families need requirements
  • The program will Identify the types of risks confronting children or the ability of families and the community to provide care for and meet the needs of children. the programme will further ensure that every vulnerable child identified in the community receives the required services, e.g. access to health care, psychological support and other support it can help on their vulnerability.
  • Mapping out the resources or services that can provide support to children and families.
  • Referring or helping children and families access local services by bringing them to the attention of service providers or groups who can help address their needs, such as access to welfare support, medical support, food, shelter and education.
  • Acting as a focal point for reporting child protection concerns, including physical or sexual abuse, violence or exploitation.
  • Coordinating activities within the community in support of child and family welfare.
  • Engaging in discussions with children and families on the issues that affect them on an ongoing basis and working with the community to find or develop appropriate solutions.
  • Supporting and promoting the genuine participation of children in decision-making that affects their lives – in part by modelling good practices of communication between adults and children and respecting the views of children

  • Proving Social Work Services providing assistance and advocacy to improve the social and psychological functioning of children and their families.
  • working with cases affecting our society most especially children and gender-based violence
  • maximize the academic functioning of children as well as improving the family’s overall well-being.
  • assist parents, locate foster homes in working closely with the social development and address abuse.
  • Provide Therapy and counselling to abused children and their families and to the victims of Gender-based Violence
  • Conduct Case Work management and ensure the submission of form 22 completion for compliance with the regulations as per the social development requirements
  • Conduct Group Work, individual casework and Community work
  • Conduct Community development and Research and Ensure case management procedure/ filing system is used and up to date
  • Conduct case follow-ups ensure that all cases have received the necessary help and Closure of cases takes place where applicable
  • involve family members or primary caregivers where possible
  • Ensure Referrals are assessed according to the urgency
  • Be familiar with the SACSSP code of ethics and adheres to the principles outlined therein and have up to date Council registration SACSSP certificate in order to continue rendering effective social work services
  • address problems such as bad behaviour, teenage pregnancy, drug use, and poor grades
  • The Social work service program will also have first responder of social work services which are Social Auxiliary workers the aim of them being part of social work services they will act as the first point of contact of social work services program they will Initiate the screening phase and containment in relation to a range of services for children and victim seeking assistance from the organisation,
  • Intake process that might lead to referrals and Telephonic follow-ups on cases reported or identified
  • Receiving clients accordingly and assist accordingly and Ensure clients are aware of all services available to them.
  • Conduct home visits regularly and do follow-ups on cases

  • Provide HIV/AIDS programs
  • Hope for Future Generation Programs

(HIV) or Human Immunodeficiency Virus weakens the immune system by destroying important cells that fight disease and infection. HIV can destroy so many of the T-cells or CD4 cells, a key part of the immune system, that a body cannot fight infections and disease anymore.

When this happens, HIV infection can lead to AIDS, and (AIDS) Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome is a complex illness with a wide range of complications and symptoms. AIDS is the final stage of HIV. When individuals reach this stage, they are at high risk for opportunistic infections due to their badly damaged immune system

The aim of this objective is to reduce the Risks of HIV infections by teaching people to Practice abstinence, Practicing safer sex. Safer sex is being informed about sexual health and healthy relationships. It also includes talking to your partner about your interest, boundaries, and HIV status, getting tested and Being monogamous. Monogamy means being in a sexual relationship with only one person and you both are having sex only with each other. Having one sexual partner greatly reduces your risk of contracting HIV, assuming neither of you is already infected with HIV. Below is the activity the objective is going to be addressing

  • Provide an HIV pre-counselling and encouraging clients to get tested and know their status
  • Identifying Clients who are affected by HIV
  • Do the Referral of HIV positive Client to the nearest clinic and relevant services provider?
  • Follow up and ensure adherence to treatments
  • HIV post-counselling sessions
  • Raise awareness related to HIV/AIDS

  • Entrepreneurship Skills aim to equip learners about business skills in order to develop an understanding business and provide them with real and practical experience in running small businesses of their own, educate them on how to start a business, how to structure a business, market and product selection and sales plan development
