For years now I have wanted to travel to Europe. Excuses have prevented me from doing so. I never had enough money. It wasn't the right time. I had other obligations. I have realized that these excuses will never go away. There will always remain a reason why I shouldn't go. Despite the multitude of fears and inhibitions preventing me from going on an adventure, there are also an infinite number of reasons why I should go. So instead of letting my fear of the unknown hold me back, I've decided to take a leap and conquer something that will hopefully impact my life in more ways than one. I have decided to attend a two week trip to Rome, Italy with the International Volunteer Headquarters (IVHQ) organization to use my skills and passion to help at a local animal shelter while also getting to explore and experience a part of the world that I have never seen.
