Final update 14.10.19:

He's out of hospital and will fly home tomorrow... Thank you all for your kind donations which has meant we could get some care for him, some much needed equipment and flights home. Bless each and everyone of you 💕💕

UPDATE 6: 09/10/19

A quick update....Keith is making remarkable progress.... He's now starting to walk, eating well and has amazed the Doctors with his progress.... and we have a date for him to return to the UK. He will be back next Tuesday evening. Keith will need a lot of physio combined with rest once home. Keith, Nikki and all the family are truly humbled by your kind and generous donations and this has helped with Nursing, a wheelchair, flights home and helping Nikki to be in the Hospital with Keith. Thank you one and all 💕

UPDATE 5: 05/10/19

Keith is continuing to amaze all the Doctors with how well he is doing. We are hoping for a flight home middle of next week.. Any funds raised have been helping support Keith while he's in hospital, you have to buy a lot of your own equipment as well as the Nursing care. Keith will need a lot of care when he gets home.. Any remaining funds will help with that as well as Keith having time to rest and get stronger.. We are all so greatful for everyone's contributions...there is a fund rasier at the Northern Belle in Margate tomorrow afternoon onwards, please feel free to come along.

UPDATE 4: 02/10/19

The last few days have been nothing less than miracleous. Keith's speach is clearer, he's learning how to sit up alone and even stand!.. We have purchased a wheelchair with part of the money donated so that Nikki can take him for a short walk around the hospital... Well at least off the ward.

Keith has a long way to go and a lot of hard physio ahead but with his grit and determination he will get there. The next stage is to get him a flight home. Thank you all once again for your continued support.

UPDATE 3:

Thank you all for your continued support both financially and emotionally. The messages that Nikki, me and the family have received have been a huge comfort to us all. Keith has been told he is very lucky to be alive, and even though I was losing faith I have to feel nothing but gratitude to the Neurologists who have been working in the dark to get him better.... Still no diagnosis. After spending the last 5 days with my brother 24/7 I can honestly say it was a living hell, so God only knows how he must have been feeling! . He's now awake, managing to eat by himself, just, and has to do extensive physio to get his body working again. He has a long journey, not just geographically speaking... We will be buying a wheelchair for him so he can be taken off the ward when possible. He may still need assistance to get home and we hope this is sooner rather than later.. I am back in the UK now as needed to get back to Kieran and back to work tomorrow. Nikki is flying back Wednesday and with the continued support of Samantha and Janet I am hopeful he will improve day by day. Please continue to share and donate. Some of the Money is being used to purchase the wheelchair and a night nurse so the family can rest.. Money will be used to get him back to the UK which we are yet to be able to arrange he isn't fit to travel as yet.

UPDATE: We are now looking at getting Keith home by land ambulance if necessary. This will cost between 10 and 12k so a lot less than by air.. And even though the idea of the appeal was for Nursing cover if we can achieve this it would be a massive relief.

Please forgive the photos... But I have to get people to help me please!!

This could happen to anyone of us. My brother was visiting my Mum in Greece, she is showing the signs of early dementia so he needed to visit her as soon as he could. Because this was not a holiday as such he totally forgot to take out travel insurance. After a day or so of being in Greece he became very unwell, it was thought he had a stroke but they have since ruled this out. However the hospital cannot give a firm diagnosis but believe it's something neurological. He's now in Intensive care and fighting for his life. He is having more tests that aren't covered by his EHIC card.. These alone are costing £600, which me and Mum have paid for. We are desperate to get him back to the UK so we can have more family around him to support him and each other. Yes, the insurance is an oversight but it really could happen to anyone!!.. Please please help us raise money to provide basic nursing care when he comes out of ITU, they don't have Nurses as we do in the NHS and once he's able we need to get him an air ambulance home. We need about 30k to do this. All family and friends are already helping. Residence of Kalyves, Keith is the son of Wendy Roberts and uncle to my daughter Samantha Emery, some of whom you will know. Please feel free to share with as many people as you can. Thank you all, on behalf of Wendy, Nicki and all of us. Believe me, asking for help isn't sitting well with any of us and i have to return to the UK next Sunday. I am keeping an account of what the money is spent on for transparency... The fund raising take 6.9% commission and every penny of the remaining balance, should there be any will be donated to a charity.

UPDATE DAY 13.

Update posted by Angela Black at 05:48 pm

Keith is out of ITU and back on the neurology ward. We are no closer to a diagnosis which is very frustrating. He is making small progress every day. He can speak, sort of, he can't hold himself up and his arms and legs are like lead weights. He's now. . . . .

Travel Insurance!!!!

Update posted by Angela Black at 08:16 am

I think there has been some confusion over the Travel insurance we thought Keith had... Sadly his bank made a massive mistake... They informed my other brother there was insurance, we had it confirmed by AXA, the day I raised the campaign there was no travel insurance. Needless to say
