Irrigation Pilot Program Kitui

Update posted by Butterfly4Volunteers On Mar 09, 2014

We started with a foundation for a spirulina tank in Ndundune. The Butterfly Foundation decided together with the local people that a fish pond is better to begin than to cultivate spirulina. They need to get a lot of knowledge for to grow spirulina and the knowledge of cultivate fish, they know; so it is easier to start with fish. Now, there is more time for to get education for how to cultivate spirulina, while they can caught the fish.

They have made a small plaster wall arond the foundation for to get the fish pond. They have water for to fill the pond, but they need to buy the small fish and the food for it, then the fish can grow, new ones can born and when they are big enough, they can caught the fish and sell them on the market.

New donation we can use for reach this goal: sell the fish on the market and earn money for to buy cloths, food, shoes, schoolstuf and more.
