Irini’s Volunteering in Disaster Management & Homeless Conf

A bit about me…

Hello everyone and have a wonderful day! My name is Irini, I am a Survey Engineer and now, I'm beginning my Ph.D. Program in Gis and Cartography! I am a greek girl (from Andros Island) and I have studied Survey Engineering! I am really excited about beginning a Ph.D. because, despite my financial failure, researching is giving me life!

What am I doing?
I will participate in Conference "Gi4DM", (Geoinformation for Disaster Management) as a Ph.D. Student with a very significant issue to present: A model for housing allocation of a homeless population due to a natural disaster.
Through this project, I am trying to show to people why it is significant (in a case of earthquake for example) to protect not only the people inside their houses but also the homeless population.
Also, I will have a small volunteering part in this conference, which
which is related to the coordination of visitors.

Funding my placement
I will be leaving to begin my placement on the 2nd of September 2019 and I am hoping to fundraise as much as possible for this. The total cost of my placement is 285 euros, which includes 165 euros of my flight (Athens - Prague, 2-6 September) and 120 euros (4 nights x 30 euros) of my stay. Unfortunately, my job is not enough to participate in this conference and I would really to be there, to speak about the homeless population!

Anything that I do not raise through fundraising, I will try to cover myself - so any donations that can be made will make a huge difference!
