Iraklis Football team was established in 1977 with the purpose of creating an organised and fun environment for the young people of our community to enjoy learning and playing football. By promoting an identity, a sense of community and an essential link between the younger and older generations. This is one of the ways to pass on important life lessons through a widely loved sport.
Now more than 40years on we train and support children from Under 7 through to Under 17. Each season runs from September through to May each year with games played each week. We are happy to see that our memberships are increasing each year. But this is requiring extra funding to maintain the right level of support for our coaches and the players.
We provide the chance for skills, ambitions and friendships between peers to be pursued creating a bond that can last a lifetime. The skills that are learnt here are some of the most important life lessons children need.
Teamwork, ambition to succeed, friendships, history, respect, resilience and understanding are all apart of what we feel goes into making a well rounded human being.
We have organized fund raising events in the past but due to COVID 19 we were unable to have our usual Greek Evening’s and BBQ’s in the village square. Previously these have been a huge help for the team and we are very appreciative to all who attended and supported us.
This ‘funding page’ is to try and help us during this pandemic and beyond. We will l be able to increase our numbers, help towards travel expenses, purchase new equipment, maintain the football pitch and its surround areas.
Iraklis is a big part of our village community that is loved and supported by our local people and their families. We therefore would like to extend this support by asking for your help too!!
