I used to manage Filipino talents (event hosts and singers) in the Philippines. And I have been in the events industry since 2010. General fact is that there is a huge pool of untapped talents in my country. The mainstream talent agencies would always go for physical attributes than what the talents can actually offer. I wanted to level the playing field for all Filipino talents who want to both showcase their skills and earn from it. At present, there is no online marketplace specifically for Filipino talents in the events industry (weddings, debuts, corporate events, etc). And frankly, only those who can afford to market themselves online are the ones given that opportunity. Needless to say, I purchased the domain name Talents.PH a couple of years ago and planned to make it THE leading marketplace for Filipino talents nationwide. It took me so long to contemplate whether the business model is going to be either a full-fledged talent agency or simply an online directory. I stumbled upon a company in the US, which is a marketplace for storage facilities all over the states. Upon learning their business model, I had a eureka moment! Now, I'm finally able to figure out the business model I would go for Talents.PH. For this first-round of fundraising project, I am willing to give 20% equity stake of the business and raise $2,000. The money raised will be used mainly to finish the website and marketing/advertising it. I hope you would be able to give me the opportunity to showcase my entrepreneurial skills to the world and be able to serve as many Filipino talents as I can.
