My Name is Benson Muteti,
I am a photographer and Volunteer at Inua Mimi Rescue Centre (IMRC).
IMRC is home to 60+ children who were rescued from the community which faces Tribalism, Child Abandonment, Orphan, Early Marriage, Female Genital Mutilation, Poverty and more........We provide shelter, give them basic education, and expose them to the arts such as dance, photography, singing and other talents.
On October 23, at around 9:00 pm a fire outbreak ravaged Inua Mimi Rescue Centre. We lost everything to the fire. With generous contributions from well-wishers, family and friends we are on our way to recovery. The Centre is under-construction and the children will soon have a roof under their heads.
However, the festive season is here and we thought of way to keep them smiling despite everything that's happening at the moment. Last year we shared Christmas with them and it brought me so much joy to see them share a good meal, snacks, soft drinks, cut the cake and finally unwrap their Christmas presents. Again, thank you to everyone who helped and made it a success. The big question is.....Why not do it one last time?
I made them write letters to Santa asking him for what they would want for Christmas. Most of them asked for basic necessities such as clothes and shoes (* Relatable since they lost everything to the fire*)
Whether you're religious or not, we all agree that kids deserve Christmas, some comfort and love . With your help we can answer all their 60+ letters to santa. Let's give them and their families what they could have only dreamed of this festive season [Dreams do come true].
Any amount $1, $5 ,$10 will be appreciated and adds up to make the dream a reality, so please dont feel like you have to sell a kidney to help out Every little bit will help!.
Ps: Happy holidays and a festive season to you and your family. Thankyou for always choosing to support IMRC
