The Link People undertook some Market Research and Interviewed Underprivaleged Children in Poverty stricken Areas within the United Kingdom.
We asked 6 Teenagers aged between 15-17 from Impoverished Communities in the UK what their Aspirations were and what they wanted to do as a Career, Their answers ranged from Teachers to Construction workers but one thing they could all agree on.......University hopes and the chance for them to achieve their goals would not materialise because there Families simply could not afford it.
These Children have been neglected by Society, Forced to grow up in concrete Jungles and High risers full of Drug Addicts, Crack Dens and a life of Crime. On further Investigation these kids showed real potential in their School Studies and proved to be Academically bright but due to their circumstances would never be able to afford University or a Holiday, most barely had shoes that fit and those that did had holes in.
These kids deserve a chance to make something of their lives and their Backgrounds and Financial situation shouldn't stop them!
The Link People have launched a Campaign to raise the funds to send them on Internships throughout the world! We are trying to raise Funds to send 6 Teenagers abroad on Internship Programs between 12-24 Weeks and covering Marine Conservation, Wildlife Conversation, Teaching and Contruction and then if successful another 6 the following year and so on. Students will be taught valuable life skills and be able to undertaken courses that could give them the step up they need to reaching their Career Aspirations and life goals such as PADI Diving Courses and becoming a qualified TEFL Teacher.
The full details for the Intended Internship Programs can be found here - http://www.gvi.co.uk/find-a-program/search-results/
Children and Teenagers shouldn't have to suffer because they come from Impoverished backgrounds and why should they miss out just because their Families cant find the money to better their Childrens Education and Lives? These Kids are the Future and some will go on to be great Achievers - Some may go on to hold the Answers to eliminating Poverty or other world problems
But this can only be made possible if we put our Faith in them and make it happen.....
Please help us achieve this.
Many Thanks in Advance.
