My name is Tina. I am from Taiwan. I am currently studying in The Pennsylvania State University. I am a sophomore student majoring in advertising and minoring in theatre. I am a very out-going and enthusiastic person. I love people, do volunteer jobs and for the most part, bring happiness to other people’s life. I have a lot of passion on doing what I love doing. For so many years, I have been thinking and dreaming about volunteering in Africa and learn more about African culture. There are so many people need help and attention in developing country. However, we only have these much of effort and strength to make the world better. I hope that through my strength, effort and contribution I can make the world a little bit difference.
In this coming summer, I am traveling with International Volunteer Abroad Programs for Students, ISV, to South Africa. ISV is an internationally recognized and awarded organization that sends university students from US, Canada , UK and Australia to various countries around the world in an effort to impact entire communities and endangered habitats in need.
I am so excited to have the great opportunity to assist others in the world, but as you may know, international travel can be somewhat costly. This is why I am asking for everyone’s help. I will be so grateful if you could sponsor me for my commitment to 80 hours of volunteer work in South Africa. You donation will go directly toward my program and travel costs, covering my accommodations, meals, projects material and support ground transportation and tour guidance.
While on my community development project, I will learn about the social and financial challenges of people living in developing counties and communities, which will strengthen my understanding of the world at large and lead me on a path oh humanitarian efforts to impact our world for years to come. Past ISV volunteers have worked with children in orphanages and rescue center, and built schools, medical facilities and community gardens, and more projects. With your help, I will be able to broaden my cultural and social awareness, as well as improve the quality of life for disadvantage families and children. The ISV program also has a strong education component, and I am really excited and looking forward to learning about the global issues facing other countries, and how I can help.
To conclude, thank you, every one of you, being so patient reading my article. I hope through your sponsor, we can make this trip come true and make some difference together in the world. Please Sponsor me!! Every penny counts!!!! Thank you very much!!!!!
