I am an international student studying at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada. I have recently participated in the Engineering Coop program to gain valuable experience and help fund my education but all my savings were spent in Living expenses and past due payments of tuition. I have three semesters of education left and including all costs (tuition, international differential and living expenses) over $35,000. I have tried other sources of funding (went to banks, tried scholarships, bursaries) but only a few options are available for international students and they do not cover all of my costs. I am only asking for $30,000 and not all of it because I will be working part time while studying to cover as much expenses as I can. During my Coop job, I have been presented with the opportunity of persuing my engineering career after graduation and I do not want money to be a hindrance. If this funding campaign is a success it will not only allow me to complete my engineering degree but also stay in Canada and contribute to the society as an Engineer. After the completion campaign, I will work towards forming a community to support the financial needs of other deserving international students. There is a lot of talent around the world but more than 80% of them cannot persue their education in Canada and have a career to contribute towards Canadian society because they can not afford to study.
