Campaign Story
Project Description: An integration bee is a competition in which AP Calculus students compete against one another to solve integrals (much like a spelling bee). Cash prizes will be given to the top three finishers. Door prizes will also be given to spectators in order to encourage students from other math classes to come watch the excitement and cheer on their friends.
Educational Objective: Approximately 20 students from the AP Calculus class will compete to solve integrals, one of the main concepts of calculus. Approximately 100 students from other high school math classes will watch the competition in hopes that their curiosity and interest is piqued and that they see that math can be fun, challenging, and exciting.
Budget Requested: $400
First place - $125 (cash/check), Second place - $100 (cash/check), Third place - $75 (cash/check), Door prizes - $100 (an assortment of local gift cards, school paraphernalia, and other education-related prizes)
