Help Eduard to afford Insulin Pump Therapy.
He has been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 27, his current HbA1c is at 5.5% but he suffers from frequent Hypoglycemic episodes (low blood sugar) on his current therapy regimen. He can be described as a 'brittle diabetic' at the moment.
Frequent Hypoglycemic episodes have proven to cause death and brain damage in less severe episodes. As a solution Insulin Pump Therapy has been prescribed by his Physician Dr. F de Kock at Cape Town MediClinic but he can not afford this life saving therapy.
Glucose control is enhanced by up to 40% with the insulin pump system and can eliminate the medical complications associated with Diabetes. These include the loss of vision, the amputation of limbs and kidney failure. By him making use of a Insulin Pump he can avoid the hardship and medical costs of these health complications.
