Innovations Start-up

I am an artist and a product designer who have always wanted to create and invent useful things. I wanted to be an inventor and artist since I was 5 years old. Since I was a teen I have been collecting product concepts and design ideas and over the years have developed them into utility designs or simple inventions which are equally functional and aesthetic in form. After so many years I have come up with the right designs and have been in talks with at least two manufacturers for quite some time now.

There are currently four designs which are under development and already pending for prototyping:

1. A portable chair design, the most portable design which allows one to carry it in a clutch bag or a purse of same size and set it up in around 5 seconds

2. A multi-purpose, customizable, and rearrangeable furniture design that works like a showcase and storage for non-refrigerated food, books, collectibles, clothes, shoes, bags, toiletries, perfumes, even terrariums, plants, and entertainment system. Rearrangeable means you can convert it into a food bar, wince cellar, book shelf, etc. in any occasion.

3. A simple stick-on personal sunlight cover design that can be used in a car on sunny days or on any window

4. A lighting design that is the closest to mimicking the effect of real fireflies and glowworms in Waitomo Cave in New Zealand.

All of which are aimed for mass production and the development of each design were not possible if I continued to glue myself in an office chair. Sadly, my situation prevents me from producing the proof-of-concept prototypes and the functional prototypes even if my designs are already with the manufacturers. These four are only the first set of designs for the products/simple inventions that I have finished, only able to do so because I have the time needed to focus and nurture these ideas and concepts. There are still more on my list that are under development e.g. a lego-like couch than you can also play with to form different shapes or even characters, an outdoor couch design that uses plastic bags as cushion, a multifunction lightpacking backpack, and many more.

Aside from this I have artworks and conceptual artworks which I am unable to finish because of lack of resources. I also study different languages on my own and am also active with campaigns regarding animal welfare and war victims. For now I sell food to my friends to get by but recently lost that income. Sadly, even if I go back to working in an office it will take me many years to gather enough funds to build this start-up. Furthermore, as a creative introvert, working in an office without being able to do my passion hurts my self-esteem contributing to my anxiety as I feel like a fish out of water. Being in an environment where you do not thrive does hurt your morale as an individual especially if you know you are missing out opportunities that you deserve.

This is my long-term dream and I see myself doing this past my retirement age. My passion is my life and my vision is to provide value to society with my ideas and designs/inventions which are equally functional and aesthetic because that's what I see in the future.

The support I will receive will also enable me to continue the past charity initiatives I had planned. I will use my work as an artist and a designer to spearhead the projects and campaigns I have previously discussed with my friends. There is a Facebook page for it already called "Tree".
