Currently, In Libya, the basic human right of having the peace of mind to send your children to school and go to work is a privilege mere few still enjoy. In the last few weeks, my homeland has once again been thrown into the wreckage of civil war, this time raging louder and more violent than ever before.
Within a numbered days, the airport was targeted and subsequently attacked. Many areas have residents who are unable to leave their homes for fear of what waits them outside and for the fact that they have nowhere else to go. Family members of mine have been trapped in their homes, their walls and and ceiling serving as the only thing standing between them and a barrage of bullets and missiles aimed by militants with no training or background on how to handle any form of conflict or weaponry. Thankfully and with the ongoing efforts of the Libyan Red-Cross, my family members were finally rescued yesterday after many failed attempts. They left everything they had, took what was on their back and left the only place they called a home not knowing if it will be standing still when they returned. As is the case for many displaced families at the moment.
This campaign has no political agenda of any sorts, myself and the people working on this with me do not side with either party, we are merely trying to help the real losing party of this unjust war. The innocent civilians who are merely trying to survive.
What we do is we collect the donations and convert it to the local currency where it will quadruple at the very least and from then on, we purchase beds, clothes, food, medical supplies, rent empty homes in safe areas for refugees and make direct donations to the Libyan Red Cross who are doing their absolute very best but are sadly understaffed and outnumbered.
Any contribution would be most graciously welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for your time and have a safe day ahead.
