Campaign Story
Ink2Link Project aims to provide remote, indigenous and under-resourced public schools in the Calamianes Group of Islands in Palawan, the Philippines, with the much-needed printing resources such as printer refill inks, printing equipment and bond papers to help them efficiently produce learning modules for the modular distance learning of students affected by the pandemic. With the cancellation of face-to-face classes in most areas in the country for yet another school year, self-learning modules continue to play a crucial role in ensuring learning continuity of children at home. This is especially true in marginalized communities in Palawan where online learning is not possible due to lack of accessibility to gadgets and weak or non-existent mobile/ internet signal.
Our volunteers across the Calamianes, composed of the island municipalities of Coron, Culion, Busuanga and Linapacan, go the extra mile by literally climbing mountains, fording streams and crossing seas to be able to bring donors' gifts of love to far-flung schools and marginalized communities. These gifts, in the form of printing resources such as printer and refill inks, greatly complement the very scarce resources of the schools and enable them to produce and distribute self-learning modules to every learner's home, with the guide of parents, teachers and community learning facilitators, even as schools remain closed due to the pandemic.
By regularly communicating with the donors how their contributions are being spent, our team seeks to ensure transparency with the donations entrusted to us. Thus, for every turnover of printing resources to a school beneficiary, donors get a meaningful glimpse of their support by receiving a LETTER OF THANKS and CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION issued by the recipient school to donors' names plus an Ink2Link DOCUMENTATION REPORT (with photos/ video) of the actual school turnover and utilization of printing items sourced from their donations. With the consent of the donors and to serve as inspiration to others, we would like to also MENTION/ TAG the name of donors on our Facebook Pages (including that of the recipient schools) in addition to an invite to join our partners' GROUP CHAT on Messenger so everyone can get timely updates on their contributions.
Please remember that no amount is too small. We have, however, listed 3 options (quantities per option will depend on the prices of items upon purchase) to make it easier for donors/ sponsors to decide:
USD30 for a set of printing (refill) inks for 1 School
USD100 for a set of printing (refill) inks and reams of bond papers for 1 School
USD200 for a set of printing (refill) inks and equipment for 1 School
Since the start of modular distance education last year, our team has been closely working with the local Department of Education offices on the identification of priority schools needing the most assistance in the printing of learning modules. To date, Ink2Link has distributed over 1,500 bottles of printing inks, 20 printers and 50 reams of bond papers to 38 disadvantaged public elementary and high schools.
For the coming school year beginning September 2021, we hope to be able to serve as conduits of your help and touch the lives of thousands of vulnerable learners in at least 50 public schools in remote, under-resourced and indigenous communities across the Calamianes Islands. We priorotize indigenous schools/ communities for this school year as their learners are at greater risk of being left behind given the limited delivery of education and resource constraints amidst the pandemic.
Note: Ink2Link Project is an initiative of Community Innovations for Development, Inc., a non-stock non-profit organization duly registered with the Philippines' Securities and Exchange Commission and accredited by the Municipal Government of Coron. CID was formed by a group of Ink2Link volunteers in the height of the pandemic in 2020 to respond to the challenges in education across the Calamianes Group of Islands in Palawan. The organization is purely run by a diverse group of volunteers and education advocates and operate based on BAYANIHAN - a fundamental aspect of Filipino culture showcasing a spirit of communal unity and cooperation without expecting anything in return.

Keep up the great work with your project! During our stay at the Bella Vita Guest House, we met the most amazing hosts who will always have a special place in our hearts. Now, during these challenging times, with schools closed, we applaud you for the impact you are making in helping children continue to learn, and we are happy to support the cause! All the best, The O’Donnell Family

I have mixed emotions making this contribution. On one hand, I feel so blessed to be in a financial situation that allows me to help, however small. On the other hand, I am reminded how difficult life can be in the Philippines. I feel so fortunate to have visited not just the Philippines, but specifically Coron, and Bella Vita guest house, fall 2018. While visiting Coron, my finance, Gie Nozawa, and I were honored, forever grateful and always appreciative to have met two amazing, kind, thoughtful, and generous people, Jan Olit and sister Jolienne Olit, while staying at Bella Vita guest house. I remember sitting on the porch of Bella Vita with Jan, hearing of his deep desire to help enrich the lives of others. Not knowing that someday he would actually make a difference. I am so proud of you Jan, and look up to you as a role model. The world is a better place because of people like you and Jolienne. Thank you for all that you do and may blessings fill your heart with happiness. Pat
