Covid 19 changed the world for all of us. A lot of people were taken away from us far too early. How glad we were when we heard that there is a solution to help us, a Covid 19 vaccine. This is to enable us to fight this new pandemic, and even if you get sick you will not end up in the hospital, or have a greater chance of survival. When it was time to register, I immediately registered. Unfortunately even before I could get the injections, I started getting sick and had double Pneumonia with the Delta Virus. I ended up in the ICU unit, very critical, and did not know if I would survive.

The first shock came when my Medical Insurance informed us that they do not cover any Covid 19 cases. This meant that I had to pay all my own medical bills etc. I was a long-time in the ICU High Care, I must say the Drs and nurses were very helpful, the treatment started to work, and everything turned around. Luckily I survived and could leave the hospital alive. But unfortunately, I was so sick, that it took me still months to recover after being in the hospital. I could not breathe properly, I could not walk from the bed to the bathroom, my body went into shaking periods in which I could not control my body. This meant that I could not do anything at all for a long time.

Unfortunately back to reality, I had all these medical bills that needed to be paid. I am a small business owner, my business had a big setback with me not being there. There was practically no hope for me. I had nothing to fall back on and only had all these bills and phone calls on when will the bills be paid. Even my business accounts could not be paid anymore, which means even more stress. I was even evicted from my business place because I could not pay the bills.

My main aim for this campaign is to try and pay my bills and then after that start helping other small business owners, who are in the same situation that I am. I do not think people realize how bad it is for small business owners when there is a crisis. There are no salaries or income to fall back on, no one to help or assist. The bad thing about this except for the owner loses everything, the staff also loses their salaries which means more people who have no income.

It is time for the small business owners to stand together and make a difference and start helping each other in these times. I truly hope that I can start something and make a difference in a lot of small business owner's lives.

  • Small Business owners should stand together, as we all know how it feels when there is no income or any backup. I hope you will be able to help others and also startup your business again.
