Inform and Empower the brainwashed and radicalized

Help me to inform and educate the brainwashed and religiously-radicalised in their own language, Arabic!
This is the only way to tackle terrorism at its roots rather than on the surface.

The why…

Brainwashed radicals are causing big troubles in the world. And it is hitting home too, here in Australia and around the world. Just have a look at how many religious and terrorism related incidents happened in Melbourne or in the US in 2017-18.

I believe we are dealing with the issue at the surface. We are being in the defense position rather than being proactive about it. We need to deal with those radicals and potential terrorists early enough before they become a threat. That cannot happen by massive military operations and on-land police raids to find and fight those cells. We should deal with it much earlier and at its roots.. But how?

The how...

These people who eventually become a threat to us and attack us because of their radical religious beliefs and practices, are being brainwashed early enough in life. The only way to fight it before it becomes a threat, is also early enough. And it is not by police force, by hatred speech or insulting and marginalising this people, but rather the opposite. It can only be achieved by informing and empowering them through thought-provoking material and challenging their beliefs (early enough) and educating them. That had shown amazing results over and over again. But there is a big challenge here... Language!

The challenge...

The vast majority of the educational material and information available online is in English (or another language). But there is hardly any challenging material in Arabic - the one and main language where radicalisation is taking place. Most of the people in the Middle East do not speak or understand English very well. And those who are not in the ME bust still heavily invested in Islam, Jihad and Quran (in a radical way) are doing so in Arabic, not in any other language!

So we need to produce, provide and create our informative and challenging material in no other language than Arabic.

The who and the solution...

I am N.R, an Australian from an Egyptian background. I grew up in Egypt and Arabic is my mother tongue. I am Biblical scholar academic and a student of near eastern religions and tradition in the University of Sydney, however I am an agnostic atheist.

A year ago, I started my YouTube channel in Arabic for one particular reason (which I outlined above); to inform and empower the brainwashed radicals by educating and challenging their beliefs. I grew up among them, so I know exactly how they think and how to talk to them. I also backed my strategy and approach up by my academic studies in the field.

My channel is growing and I get all sorts of communication from praise to threats and from prayers to insults. I know that my channel is challenging them, but at the same time I do not use or promote any hatred speech or insulting language back, but rather a sense of inclusion and understand how hard it is to have your core beliefs challenged.

Finally... Why am I asking for donations?

It is simple. I work and study full time. And what started as a hobby, cannot continue as a hobby.

Creating these videos, pushing them online and further engaging in discussions and debates (not to lose those who are engaging) is becoming an increasing challenge on me. Time, money and resources are needed in order to get going. And unless I have support to do so (for example work part time instead of full time) to free my time for this cause and create a much bigger change, I cannot do it without your help and support.

So please, support me in this journey and help me create that big change.. and fight the problem at its root and in its own language.
