Indoor Parkour Jam – Keep Kids Off the Street

Hello Potential Donors,

     My name is Joe Diaz, and I am the Captain of Galaxy Parkour. We at Galaxy Parkour like to share our passion of Parkour with citizens of Philadelphia and surrounding areas. We organize Parkour "jams" for 2 reasons. 1. To train our passion of parkour with other people who love parkour. 2. To keep young adults and children off the dangerous streets of Philadelphia and into a safe enviroment where participants can train their mind, body and spirit with Parkour. We see parkour as an escape. Philadelphia has one of the highest crime rates, and highest rate of drug use and alcohol use in young adults under 18 in the country. Our goal is to keep some of these children and young adults off the streets. But with winter approaching, we can no longer do Parkour outside. There are many parkour gyms that charge up to 40.00 for just one hour of training. We are trying to organize a 3 hour indoor event at Pinnacle Parkour for Children, Young Adults and adults to train their passion for Little or no cost. How can you help? Donate even just a dollar. With everyones help, this event can happen!

Salutations honored guest!

     My name is Brad Yeager, I am one of the directors of whirlwind parkour. We are an organization established in an effort to subdue complacency in the youth today, and motivate people to overcome their fears (physical and mental). We attend many gatherings known as “Parkour Jams” which are organized all over the world. Most commonly you will find our group in Philadelphia with the other groups such as Galaxy Parkour, and Team Impulse. One of the more recent meets was the “Philadelphia Parkour Leave No Trace Jam” (shown above) where over 60 people gathered to clean up the city of the copious litter found throughout. At the end of the day we then toured the city and practice our passion.

     Parkour is often declared as a “way of life” by those who practice. It is the French practice of harmonizing with your environment and overcoming obstacles in the most efficient manner possible. Whirlwind parkour embraces this idea, and practice the art as a group bouncing ideas strategies and even confidence off of each other with the goal of growth in mind. We welcome anyone young or old to join us whenever we organize to practice our art. Giving back to the community is our goal and we seek to one day open a nonprofit gym of our own where we can teach others and unite to help others to harness the full potential of their mind & bodies. Although our intentions are sincere, the price we pay to follow our passion is not a cheap one. With expenses including travel to other cities for jams, the wear of clothes & shoes, and the technology we use to compile the videos and montages we create, it is becoming more and more difficult to fund. Not to mention with the winter weather approaching, we are upon even more circumstances that will limit our ability to practice our passion. So we seek out those amongst you who feel that our organization, our brotherhood is worth considering for your donations.

     This message is an effort to fund raise for a local parkour jam at Pinnacle Parkour gym. The prices of many local gyms exceed $20.00 an hour per person, and with your donation we would be able to make this dream a reality for many kids and adults alike. Help us gather our masses and have a great day where we can regroup with the rest of the Parkour community.
