Indigenous Peoples through a book and Video Blogs

Indigenous Peoples are minorities who are being misjudged by everyone. Many people still believes that the Indigenous Peoples are uncivilized. Little did we know the richness of their culture preserved and being passed on from generations to generations.

This campaign is for the study (and outreach) of the Indigenous Peoples of the whole Philippines. The output of the project is a book about the different Indigenous Groups, social construction, traditions, religion, and culture. And also, a video blog showcasing their lives to reach the millennial audience and to easily present the study. We aim to introduce the Indigenous Peoples of the Philippines to the world to lessen the wrong connotations about them; to be appreciated by many, and to be loved by everyone.

PITCH

Hi everyone! Please help us collect funds for the study. We are allocating the funds for travel expenses (Note that the Indigenous Peoples are located in far flung areas of the Philippines where we need to travel by air, sea and land.), for publishing expenses, and outreach expenses (see Outreach section below). Indigenous Peoples have always been close to my heart, and as a Masters Student specializing in Philippines' Culture, my goal is to study different (if not all of the Indigenous Groups, 80% at least) Indigenous Groups in the Philippines.

BOOK

The final output of this project is a book introducing the different Indigenous Peoples Groups of the Philippines from North of Luzon to South of Mindanao. The contents are the result of the study and will be proofread by the scholars in the Philippines specializing in Indigenous Peoples.

VIDEO BLOG

The study will be documented through notes, photos, and videos. We will be posting a video blog showing the life, culture and tradition of each Indigenous Groups to easily reach the millennials (our main audience target). Through videos, we believe that we will be able to introduce the IPs easily to the people of contemporary world. This is the easiest way that we can see to spread the good words (and facts) about the Indigenous Peoples.

OUTREACH

For every successful study about a specific Indigenous Groups, there will be a simple outreach program to the community as a thanksgiving for their participation in the stud. There will be a boodle fight, community helping activity (construction of Comfort Room/Classroom or anything that we can help the community to construct), and gift giving for the children (Clothes, Toys, School Supplies, Hygiene Kit).
