Indian Buddhist monastery Urgyen Samdrup Ling is in urgent needs of repair — please help!

Urgyen Samdrup Ling is a small but functioning monastery in the hilly regions of Tenga Valley, India. It is the beloved home of several monks, and the head of the monastery is Venerable Tenzin Palsang Dorje Rinpoche.

Due to the wet inclement weather that the region is experiencing, the monastery building is under the threat of serious deterioration, walls have already started showing signs of fracturing, if this is waited upon much longer, the walls of the building might collapse.

The monastery itself is built upon a cliff, if it does not receive proper reparation the building will be washed out due to landslide.

This little monastery might seem insignificant to those who are not cognizant of it, but this monastery is one of the spiritual hearts of the region’s village and community, important prayers, rituals and services are being conducted by Venerable Tenzin Palsang Dorje Rinpoche and his monks who regard this monastery as their beloved home and their centre of teaching and learning, the community members are trying to accrue as much of financial and resourceful help as possible, and we would appreciate a helping hand, we are trying to accumulate ten thousand American dollars to start renovation and reconstruction immediately.

A little about Rinpoche: Venerable Tenzin Palsang Dorje Rinpoche is an accomplished meditation master, Tulku, and modern day Tertön, he is recognized by His Eminence The 14th Thegtse Rinpoche who is his root teacher, he is the devoted disciple of both Thegtse Rinpoche, Minling Trichen Rinpoche and Chatral Rinpoche, he belongs to the Mindrolling order of Nyingma Buddhism.

He is a cherished teacher and friend, to his disciples, students, and community members. Aside from being a Buddhist Teacher and the small community’s spiritual leader, he is a beloved family man with wife and two children, and is also a working man.
