On the 2nd of August I will be making my way to India, Faridabad to take part in PMGY's orphanage volunteer project.
The project has been designed to provide childcare to vulnerable children that India do not have the time, resources or funding to care for. 7% of children in India are orphans, this percent is too high for India's goverment to tackle alone.
This is were PMGY come in, their volunteers provide childcare which includes taking them to and froms school, teaching them English, helping them with their homework and therefore providing the foundations for a better future.
PMGY volunteers have to pay to take part in this project as it is a NGO and therefore volunteers rely on their own funding or donations of others to make a difference.
So far I have managed to raise a large amount within the school through a non-uniform day, MANY cake sales at open evenings and lunchtimes, selling preloved belongings online, babysitting, and working a part time job. However this still isnt enough and while I have been lucky to raise enough to pay for my flight I still have a Visa, vaccinations and program fees to pay for.
This means that any donation that you can make is making a HUGE difference to myself and the children in the Alice in Wonderland orphanage.
Please Facebook, Twitter, Instagram whatever! Just help get the word out as awareness is key!
If you have read this far then thank you for visiting my fundraiser and I hope you can help me make a difference!
