Independent Reporter Covering Ukraine Russia War

Dear friends,

My name is Víctor Olivares, freelance journalist, and right now I'm in one of the most critical areas of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, such as the border of Poland, where daily thousands of people -women, children and the elderly, mainly- cross from Ukrainian territory to save their lives, leaving behind their loved ones, their belongings and their lives.

I've been in some points of the borderline for 10 days, reporting for some media what is happening here, leaving behind sensationalist reports and interests of mainstream media. I've tried to make reports based on human stories and provide a realistic perspective of what is happening in this part of the world.

However, as of this week, the resources I was able to obtain through some media will have run out, and my interest is to stay in the Polish border reporting on social and independent media, all that may be valuable and newsworthy about this refugee crisis, resulting from this war that has shocked the whole world.

In addition, this support will allow me to continue looking for stories to conclude a report on Ukrainian refugees that I am doing, as well as some chronicles related to people who have lived the nightmare of the war in their own flesh.

For this reason, I have decided to request the help of all those who want to contribute to this personal journalistic project where all your support is welcome, since this will allow me to achieve my objectives in this coverage, which from the beginning, I have tried to carry out with professionalism despite the low resources I've had for this coverage.
