ICGHBA will be a non-profit association for Independent contractors to join for $15.00/year. The association will contract with medical insurance companies to provide access to group health benefits for the members.This is possible because of a Presidential Executive Order dated Oct, 12 2017 which will allow professional associations to offer Group Health Insurance to their members. In addition to Health Insurance we plan to offer other benefits that are typically offered to employees of larger corporations.
Independent Contractors represent a large segment of the working class. Up until now, their health care choices have been limited to individual health insurance. The costs of health insurance in the individual markets have sky rocketed since the implementation of Obama Care. The benefits of a quality group plan are extensive but the primary benefits are the same premium for all members regardless of age or physical condition and co-pays until a deductible has been met rather than a deductible that must be met before the plan pays anything.
The money raised in this campaign will be used to build a web site that can accommodate the needs of the association. Market the association. Apply for non-profit status and start the process of contracting with an insurer that can cover our members in multiple states.
