We are a team comprised of 3 young black creatives and filmmakers from Paarl Mbekweni. Mlibo Sijaji, Luyolo Msolo and Solomzi
Covid19 cases in the Western Cape have soared to a staggering height of more than 41 000 active cases and have reached the peak with the number of infections continuing to rise on a daily basis. It is unfair to rely solely upon the government to resolve this issue and have thus taken it upon ourselves as young creatives to do our part utilizing our acquired skills to help raise more awareness about the virus.
We want to look into what the government might be overlooking in-terms of what could be the causes behind the surge in infections using our visual lenses to zoom into areas most affected by the pandemic.
Our aim is to create gripping and engaging content using film, photographer as well as social media as a medium in which we can explore ways we can help more vulnerable communities visually realize the need to take safety precautions against this deadly virus more seriously. Moreover, we would like to raise more awareness and help those most vulnerable get the necessary basic aid needed in order to better equip them with resources that can help in the combat against covid19.
We would like to invite you to help us help those that need it most by donating to the cause #WakeOfCovid Donations welcome in the form of Sanitizers, masks, food & clothes. To support feeding schemes in the Cape Winelands district such as Wellington, Paarl, Ceres & Mbekweni.

Together we can ease the suffering and come out strong!
