In memory of our dad, we are requesting that instead of flowers, that people make a donation to the hospital where he spent his final weeks, days and hours.

Since August 2012, our dad had suffered a heart attack, had major spinal surgery (twice), became paraplegic and fought against Lymphoma. He had been in a hospital bed since that time, in four different hospitals having stayed in 13 different wards.

The care he received at Beechwood Rehabilitation Unit in Wellingborough was by far the best we experienced across the NHS. All of the staff acted in a truly special way and we, as a family, couldn’t be more grateful to them.

The passing of our dad has left a huge hole in our lives. But we are comforted to know that
we said goodbye to him in an environment that he liked, with people he knew, receiving the quality of care that others could only aspire to.

Because of that we would like to raise funds to help the many patients who pass through the Beechwood Rehabilitation Unit on their journey back into everyday life.

In memory of our dad, and his spirit of kindness, we hope to make a small but positive impact for other people.

(NB unfortunately Beechwood do not have an associated registered charity and therefore this does not quality for gift aid).
