Kim was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. Kim graduated cum laude from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and at the same time, was a Student Council officer, a cheerdancer, and a beauty queen title holder. Kim has also received several leadership recognitions for her civic and social initiatives as a Student Council officer. After graduation, Kim held various roles in banking, real estate and business process outsourcing in the Philippines, holding key quality assurance leadership roles. Kim met Thomas, who is her first and only love, while Thomas was deployed in the Philippines. They were married in 2007. After Thomas’ deployment in Iraq, Kim migrated to the United States. Kim devoted her time taking care of her family as they started a life in Dahlonega, GA, moving to Philadelphia, NY and then back to their home – Dahlonega. Aside from her amazing culinary skills, Kim has a creative and entrepreneurial mind. Kim utilized her business degree and set up online businesses involving her hobbies - fashion, sewing, and, more recently, fabrics. Kim started to battle breast cancer at a tender age of 30 years old, while managing her thriving business, running a household and being a loving and supportive wife and mother. Kim has inspired a lot of people with her generosity, strength, positive outlook, integrity and kind heart. She’s always put everyone else’s need ahead of her own. Indeed, a beautiful heart and mind. She is loved by everyone whose lives she touched.

She is the daughter of the late Gregorio Santos and Josephine Lopez.

Kim is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Danek; daughter, Sophia Danek; son, Jan Danek all of Dahlonega, GA; and twin sister, Beverly Ilagan of Buena Park, CA.

A Memorial service for Kim is scheduled for 5 PM Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Banister

In memory of Kim, contributions may be made to the college fund of Sophia, 8 and Jan, 5.
