In loving memory of Shane Nguyen

GoFundMe aims to provide Shane Nguyen's family with a terrible act of violence to save his life.

Shane is a caring father, husband, and beloved member of every community he touched. His workday was spent providing food to the public, working long hours on a roaming food truck, while waving and smiling at people passing by. His spare time is dedicated to his family and volunteer activities, where he is an active member of the local church, choir and Bishop Dwenger band. He will always be remembered for his friendliness, enthusiasm and willingness to help people in need.

On Friday, April 23, 2021, 55-year-old Shane Nguyen was reported missing. His family, friends, and the amazing Bishop Dwenger community assembly found him and announced a statewide silver alert overnight. A few hours later, in the early hours of Sunday morning, the police found him dead in the car crashed in Fort Wayne. His death was the result of a violent crime. Shane is only two days away from his 56th birthday.

Although we are still working hard to deal with the details of the meaningless violence in which Shane died, we are somewhat relieved that all three suspects in connection with the passage have been arrested and detained by the police. We hope to bring these people to justice.

I am Shane’s cousin and founded GoFundMe on behalf of Shane’s beloved wife and two sons Ethan (20) and Noah (17). Shane is a small business owner and the main source of income for his family. His family suffered the devastation of this tragedy and worked hard to make his life more difficult during the investigation and preparation for the funeral.

We are calling for assistance to help Shane’s wife and son cope with the severe financial impact of this tragedy. All funds will go directly to Shane's immediate family.
