On April 29th 2011, my brother Alex Seaman suffered a traumatic accident, and since then, he was left with a severe brain injury. When Alex had his accident, we were originally told he would be well and return home after 1 year, but when the 1 year anniversary came round, we realised Alex had made very little progress, and what we thought was a long-term injury was far off from his expected recovery time.

Although Alex's journey came to an end on the 18th of September 2014, that doesn't mean that the money won't help. There are still millions of other people in conditions like Alex's, suffering all around the world, and not only are they suffering, but like us, so are their families. Any money raised through donations will go towards a brain injury charity called BIG, which specifically helps families of loved ones left in serious conditions. We were lucky enough to find BIG shortly after Alex had his accident, and they helped, and are still helping us through it all.

When we were growing up, Alex was always a fun, yet irritating character: he was so unique, that no one could replicate his ways, and since his accident, and his death, we have all realised that however annoying he got, we all loved him because of the way he was. Though we cannot get Alex back, other families can still get their 'Alex's' back.

  • Such a sad loss & it's not until you go through something like this that you learn so many other families are too. Great work. X
