From Hillbrow to New York, help make my dream a reality

my name is Jeanet manoko Seabi, I am an 18-year-old mulit-talented artist. I was recently selected to represent South Africa at the IMTA (International Model and Talent Association) which is being held in New York City! (in July 2020). I was selected by a panel of judges including Rhavynn Drummer , Kim Mayers, Butler and a casting director for Tyler Perry Studios. I have been chosen to perform for casting directors which would be life changing . However I have just over six months to raise enough funds for visas, flights, accommodation and meals (these are just the basic expenses – I plan on trying to save as much as I can from my part time job for all the other little costs).

I live with my mother who works part time and has gotten into dept trying to make my dream a reality, my father is an abusive person who suffers from mental illness. We live in Hillbrow and there are very little opportunities and success stories. But despite all my challenges I always find a way to overcome and keep looking for a way to change our reality. My dream is to become a model/actress and use my experience to help others from Hillbrow, and bring back hope. I want to set an example of what you can achieve if you just believe in your dreams. I would love to make our country and Hillbrow proud and coming from a world poverty, crime and I believe I can represent south Africa accordingly and inspire many.
