My name is Elsie Fuenmayor. I live in Barranquilla, Colombia (South America). I’m married, with 3 sons and work as a music instructor in a wind band program in Barranquilla. Recently I received a Masters degree in Education from Western Carolina University.

Why?

For more than 20 years I’ve been practicing tennis and I know the benefits that this sport can bring to anyone who decides to practice it even more if they are young kids. I’m a member of the Committee of the Tennis League in my city and with a group of friends we decided to create a Foundation that promotes tennis for boys and girls that come from low-income families.

What?

With the help of private companies of our city, a tennis court with its facilities was built in 2011. We give tennis lessons for free to kids 8-13 years old.  These are students that are exposed to an environment filled with drugs, alcohol and precocious pregnancies among other threats.

We need:

Economic support to continue offering for free tennis lessons. Our monthly fees are the salaries of the tennis instructor, 2 guards (day and night) that take care of the place to prevent misusage, supplies (racquets, strings, balls) and maintenance of the place.

 Rewards:

We offer our donors for

50 - 100 dollars = A pin that says: “Amigos FundacionTenis para la Vida”

100 - 500 dollars=The pin and a certification that the Foundation gives to all donors.

500-1000 dollars= The pin + certification+ recognition as a donor in the Foundation's web page.

1000 dollars and up = Recognition in the web page and a banner in the court.
