My family emigrated from Cornwall in the 1850's therefore I do not qualify for an ancestral visa. I've been an Anglophile all my life and spent most of my adult life dreaming of moving to the UK. I married in 1997. My wife was born in Wallingford and has british citizenship. I would need to apply for a spousal visa and to qualify we would need to have £62,500 in savings as we would be starting over in the UK as we both live in South Africa. I have been unemployed for eight of the last 16 months and now for four consecutive months. This is mostly do to our huge employment equity push to employ women, the youth and people of colour which I fully understand. I would love an opportunity to live and work in the UK and maybe become a naturalised citizen.
