Hi everyone, I am writing this as an urgent appeal for some help for Hito, my 2.5 year old Shiba Inu and I really hope you can take a few minutes to read our story.
In the past few months, we discovered that Hito has developed cataracts in both his eyes at a very tender age, first in his right eye diagnosed in August 2019 and now also affecting his left eye despite my best efforts to try natural remedies with hopes to slow down the process. This is very saddening for me as it is not normal for a dog to develop cataracts at such a tender age. As I have done all I can to provide my dogs with the best diet and care, given Hito's age, the vet's suspicion is that his cataracts are genetic in origin.
The vet has recommended surgical intervention to remove the cataracts; however, we will have to work on the right eye first as the cataract in that eye has developed to a more advanced stage and the cataract in his left eye is not yet sufficiently developed to be surgically removed. The surgeries will cost SGD 3,200 for each eye, amounting to a total of SGD 6,400.
As some of you may be aware, I live with 3 lovely shibas - Neko, Hito and their daughter Hira (https://instagram.com/nekohito.family?igshid=sc9fz...). As my parents are unable to accept having dogs around the house, I had to move out prematurely, and for that reason I have been staying in various rented units for the past 4 years.
As the risk of inflammation increases with delay, the first surgery, which will be for his right eye, has been scheduled for 17 March 2020, which leaves me with insufficient time to save up for it. At present, I am able to get by with my monthly income, but it does not allow me to pay for the surgeries in single lump sums.
I therefore hope to be able to raise SGD 3,200 by 17 March 2020, and the remaining SGD 3,200 thereafter.
Thank you so much for reading, and I thank you in advance for any amount at all that you may wish to help me with, as every bit goes a long way.
