Ikhaya is an initiative created to feed up to 500 homeless people in and around the city of Johannesburg on Christmas day. The idea was inspired by my decision to not go home over the holidays. While we understand that one meal will not alleviate the structural poverty that is a stark reality for most South Africans, we hope to that this one meal will inspirit a feeling of 'home', however short-lived.
We are also accepting previously-loved clothing as a form of donation for the Christmas Party. Let us know where and when we can come for a pick up once you’ve set them aside😊
Hint: Previously-loved clothes are items of clothing you haven’t worn in MORE THAN A YEAR!!!!👀👀 and trust us, you’re never going to wear them again 😂😂
Let us help you:
🙌🏾 Take them off your hands
🏡 Declutter your home; and
👋🏾Practise the art of ‘letting go’

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your donations and your support. I understand how hard it is to part ways with R100 (I did it and had a few seconds of mourning!!!) so thank you for backing us. For believing in us. Even though we have no proven track-record of fundraising. We appreciate your trusting and charitable faith 😊
