II International Book Fair Comayagua 2019

Hello! My name is Fabio Castillo, member of "Lienzo Breve" (brief canvas). A non-profit literary movement organized in Comayagua, Honduras with the sole purpose of generating spaces for artistic manifestations. We asking your kind collaboration to help us organizing our II International Book Fair, that will give the opportunity to people (specially students) to have access to books, as a tool to grow, learn and improve their lives. We have experienced the benefits and wonders of reading, and, in a county where only 37% of the population reads as habit, we are committed to take books and culture to all the people that will join out fair.

This not only about books. It´s about culture itself. Poetry, music, conferences, visual arts, arts on stage, and anything that we can offer in the three days that our book fair will last (August 29-31, 2019). We started this initiative in 2017, and it was nothing but success. More than 2,500 people attended, more than 400 boys and girls were in poetry and story telling events. We had music, a lot of education and a lot of fun (very good numbers, in a small town where there are not much cultural events through out the year). Last year, we were not able to have our second edition, because we did not get funded, but we don´t give up and here we are, inviting you to collaborate for a noble and very human cause. We don´t do it for ourselves, but for the people of this beautiful country, Honduras, that despite we are going through difficult times, we will always strive to contribute to have a better country, using books, as one of the tools to change lives.

The total amount of your collaboration will be used in this event, and we will keep you updated with pictures of our progress before and during the fair. Our reward -as has always been- will be to see kids, students and people in general reading, dancing, learning and being happy with a book as their best companion. We are very exited to have this project in our agenda, but we need your support to make this real. We will really appreciate if you collaborate.
