Welcome to iGEM Tec CEM's funding webpage!

First of all, we would like to briefly introduce ourselves, we are a team who considers every and each member as a family to everyone and we are all students from the university ITESM CEM in Mexico. iGEM is a synthetic biology competition of students from around the globe which takes place at MIT, and if you are reading this, we must say that we are glad to see people interested in our project, which consists on the exhaustive research and development of a dermatological enhancing product.

This product was designed to improve other people's lives and help them reach general well being, given that the team focused mainly on people who have suffered from third degree burns and/or severe skin damage which can carry other subsequent anomalies or secondary effects such as infections, intense pain, expensive therapies/treatments and sadly, much more. These kind of problems encouraged us to put ourselves one single challenge: help to solve these problems.

However, along our way, we faced with many other challenges, such as biocompatibility, ethics and much more "bio stuff", but the only one challenge that made the team stumble, was merely financial. We tried to get the attention from big organizations in order to promote the scientific development, research and inspire other students to participate on international competitions as well to get well known companies to sponsor or support these causes.

Now, the reason why we need such amount, is because we need to import some cellular lines and other reactants for our laboratory practices, sowe can avoid testing on animals, and if there is any money remaining, we could use it for helping some of our members with their travel expenses. The potential of our project is that we would be directly mentioning the main problems from people with skin damage, with what we consider powerful and prestigious pharmaceutical organizations, giving us the possibility of massive manufacturing of a product with the following advantages on the market:

-Low cost.

-Ease of application.

-No medical prescription needed.

-Medical urgency practical aid.

-Extremely small risk of infection.

So we are asking for just one thing, an opportunity to help change our country, to help improve the lives of every single individual with no resources and the unfortunate fate of physical injury, an opportunity to promote science and create an environment full of opportunities for students seeking great problems to give, as well, great solutions, an opportunity to make dreams happen.
