identity theft now fighting collections

When I was younger I had lost my information online.  Started getting phone calls and letters from a collections adgenty and found out I was in debt about $25000. I started paying it off slowly but now that I am on my own I am struggling on money for food and insurance for my car and my rent. All I'm looking to do is fix my debt and then try to build my credit again.
