Ida’s Medical Assistance

Ida was recently diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism last April 2019. Doctors prescribed her regular medications (Methimazole) for her disease.

Last May 19, 2019 she was rushed to the hospital due to high fever and severe weakness. ER doctors declared that she was on a critical state.

Unfortunately, tests revealed that the drug had an adverse reaction to her system which is a very rare case (only affects 1% of patients diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism is ). As a result, her white blood cell count went down to 10 vs. 4500 -11,000 making her immune system weak and vulnerable to infections. She is currently in ICU in an attempt to boost her immune system. Doctors advised her family that next 2-3 weeks will be critical for her as they can't administer any medications that will treat her hyperthyroidism unless her WBC goes to normal.

Though Ida has HMO benefits provided her loving Mom, yet her medical expenses wont be covered as it is a pre-existing disease.

Her running bill is now at approximately PHP 400,000 (Phillipine Peso).
