Youth in Uganda are the youngest population in the world, with 77% of its population being under 30 years of age. There are 7,310,386 youth from the ages of 15–24 years of age living in Uganda. These numbers create a great concern when thinking of the social and economic future of the country.

On the bright side, the youth can be a great asset as human and intellectual resource to the nation if they are well prepared for the job market by equipping them with the key skills needed for employability and entrepreneurship so that they can see the benefits of becoming job creators as opposed to waiting on the few employment opportunities.

About Us

Our organization (Royal Sites Ltd) is an ICT based startup company offering ICT support services to organizations. We have a small client base that’s still growing. We are located in Kabalagala, a neighborhood in Kampala that is known as an entertainment and educational hub with a number of universities in the area.

Amongst the services we offer, we have in the past helped to train some youth in ICT skills by giving them hands on experience where they join the organization and learn on the job since they were not in a position to raise funds for formal schooling. Poverty does creates several social and economic challenges

The truth is that there are many more youth who are not in a position to afford the costs of schooling but are able to learn through mentorship and self-study and online education.

We would like to do more to help equip more youth in similar situations by setting up an ICT resource center/lab equipped with computers and internet where young people can come and study and do research at a minimal cost.

We are organizing career boot camps that will start in January 2018 as a way of reaching out to as many youths as possible. The ICT resource center/lab will be a good addition to the program because the students can have a place to study from once they finish the career camps.

We are asking for your help to help us achieve this goal since getting a bank loan is not a good option for us at this time. After the setup of the ICT Lab, we will charge the student a minimal cost for various programs as a way of sustaining the place in the long term. The funds we raise here will be used in the following manner:-

Rent for 1 year (USD 12,000), Internet service for 1 year (USD 2,400)2 servers (USD 1500), USD 3,000 for at least 10 PC stations or more, 1 Projector (USD 500), 1 refillable inkjet printer (USD 200) and 1 diesel generator at USD 400 that will be used when we go to do youth programs in community centers with no power

It is said that the best way to invest in the future is to invest in the youth…. We believe it.

*** The donations will go directly into our paypal account and 4% will be subtracted by GoGetFunding.com.
