WHO AM I?

My name is Joan Jomitol and I am passionate in helping young people to grow in Christian faith through creative teachings and approach.I currently work as an administration clerk (Training and development department) in local hospital here in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. I was born and raised in Sabah (Borneo) and my first language is Bahasa Malaysia. Currently, I serve as one of the core team leaders for a ministry called “Young Adults Prayer Group”, based in Sacred Heart Cathedral, Kota Kinabalu. Besides that, I am also undergoing a one year spiritual formation with LiFE-ICPE Mission..

Attending School of Mission by ICPE (SOM) has always been my dream for the past one year. I have seen many wonderful fruits out the School and some of them are my good friends. Hence, a few months ago,I applied for the school (New Zealand) and I was thrilled when I discovered that I was accepted.

WHAT IS SOM AND WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

The ICPE School of Mission is a five-month fully residential course that aims to form and train young Catholics as effective evangelisers. The School also has two phase which is Formation phase and Mission Phase.During Formation phase, I will learn about The Fatherhood of God, Jesus and the Cross, The Holy Spirit and the gifts, Building a Christian Character, The Church and Christian community, Worship, Discernment and Intercession, Evangelisation and much more. The daily life as a participant of the school includes attending daily eucharistic celebration, personal and communal prayer, lectures, practical work and recreational activities. The Mission Phase is the second part of the program . It is a one month program devoted to direct evangelisation and mercy work in schools, churches, prisons and out on the streets. Participants will learn how to reach out to society through the performing arts and their personal witness, in response to Pope John Paul II's call for a "New Evangelisation".

WHY GO?

I want to be formed, equipped, trained and discover more about myself and with these, I believe I will be able to make a difference in the world, starting from where I came from .I believe School Of Mission has the tools to help me to live out my call and to reclaim those unique parts God designed for His purposes.

WHERE AND WHEN?

WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND ( 10^TH MARCH 2019 – 28^TH JULY 2019 )

THE COST FOR THIS VENTURE IS NZD 11,000 and it will be divided in the following ways:

Lecture phase and Outreach:

NZD 6,900 (includes accommodation, food and outreach travel for 5 months)

Ticket Flight:

NZD 1,320 ( includes return ticket from Kota Kinabalu-Kuala Lumpur-Sydney-Melboure-Wellington)

Visa : NZD 220

Health Insurance and Travel expenses: NZD 2,560
