My name is Simon Gisore Omboga, Kenyan, 37 years old male, residing in Nairobi. In 2012, I started a project focusing on women, children, physically and mentally challenged Kenyans. My objective is to inspire them and connect them with people who can help them achieve their dreams.
I draw dialectically from my upbringing, and also as a person living with spina bifida. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spina_bifida
My empathy is further codified having grown up in a home with domestic violence, and consequently raised by a single parent, and after several years of struggle, I finally managed to overcome these tragedies.
My main objective with women, children, people living with disabilities and students in schools, is to inspire them so that they can find strength in an effort to overcome the unique challenges they endure. The long term goal is additionally to help them to be in a position to help others.
I depend on well wishers to fund this project and it is with this in mind that I set up this “Go fund me” initiative. I provide a report on a monthly basis for the sake of transparency and accountability.
October is a very special month for me as it is the spina bifida awareness month, and coincidentally the 7 year anniversary of this philanthropic project.
Asanteni sana (Thank you so much)
