WHY ONE POUND? It is equivalent to 60 pesos in the Philippines and means a meal for a single adult (or even 2 because hey, Filipinos are very thrifty). By donating just a pound, you are already helping a single person survive a day. I understand, everyone's in a tough situation right now, and the truth is: I started this fundraiser because I don't have the means to help a lot of people. I am jobless, but that doesn't mean I can't help by the smallest things (EVEN JUST BY SHARING THIS, YOU ARE HELPING.)
I couldn't sleep. I feel helpless behind a screen as I watch my country being affected by 5 typhoons in a row. Seeing videos of people on the roofs of their houses, waiting to be rescued, as the night rains hell upon them. The last straw was coming upon a video footage of people desperately screaming in the middle of the night. We can only imagine what it is like to be in their position.
IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A LOT.
This is the time where 1 pound truly matters, and your pound is desperately needed right now by a lot of Filipinos. A pound is all it takes to help a family survive this calamity. A pound is only as small as we make it, and we need your help to make it big. Please.
